Pulau Berambang is a river island in Brunei and its tributary Sungai Limbang on Brunei Bay in the South Asian Sultanate of Brunei . The Sungai Limbang forms the border with Malaysia in large parts .
Berambang is around 9500 × 3000 meters and 1900 hectares in size, making it the largest island in Brunei in terms of area . The water villages Kampong Sungai Bunga , Kampong Pudak and Bolkiah B are located on the northwest side . The scattered settlement of Kampong Menunggol , which has a mosque and elementary school , is located on the main street Jalan Berambang . There is another mosque in Kampong Pudak and another elementary school in Kampong Sungai Bunga. Water taxis to the mainland also operate from here. On the southeast side with a view of Malaysia is the small Kampong (Kampung) Menunggul .
The island is largely covered by evergreen bush forest. Mangrove forests can be found on the coasts .
A connection of the island to the Temburong Bridge , which opened in 2020, was planned before the bridge was built.
