Pule Pheto

Pule Pheto (* 1966 in Soweto ) is a South African jazz and improvisation musician ( piano , composition ) and music producer who became widely known primarily as a songwriter and remixer .

Live and act

Pheto, who comes from a musical family (his brother is bassist Gibo Pheto), played drums early on. At the age of twelve, he and his family had to migrate to London . He received piano lessons and studied at Goldsmith College .

Pheto quickly made a name for himself in the London scene; he played with Louis Moholos Viva la Black and with Return2Roots , but also with Evan Parker , Barry Guy , Thebe Lipere, Ntshuks Bonga , Lester Bowie , Claude Deppa , Francine Luce , Lefifi Tladi and Tumi Mogorosi . For Beverly Knight he wrote songs such as Greatest Day , Cast All Your Cares , Down for the One , Flavor of the Old School and Rewind (Find a Way) , which became successful hits. He also worked for Elisha La'Verne and as part of 2B3 for Erykah Badu ( Appletree: 2B3 Summer Vibes Mix) .
