Pulitzer Prize / Current Photo Coverage

The Pulitzer Prize for reporting Actual photo ( Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography ) is awarded only since the year 2000. From 1968 to 1999 the category was called the Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography (roughly equivalent to photo reporting of current locations ). The latter was awarded twice in 1977.

From 1942 to 1967, was only the category " Pulitzer Prize for Photography " ( Pulitzer Prize for Photography ). In 1968, two prizes were set up in the photography category:

  1. "Photo reporting from current scenes" ( Spot News Photography ), which in turn was renamed in 2000 to this one - ie "Current photo reporting" ( Breaking News Photography ) - and
  2. " Feature Photo Reporting " ( Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography ).
