Pullinger pond

The Pullinger Weiher are several artificial lakes in the southern urban area of the Upper Bavarian district town of Freising . They were created through gravel mining and therefore have no above-ground inflows or outflows.

The ponds are between the districts of Pulling and Achering . The ponds are on both sides of the Pulling – Achering road. State road 2350 runs along the Isar floodplain to the east . A cycle path leads along this from Freising to Achering. A few hundred meters north is the Pulling stop of the Munich S-Bahn on the Munich – Regensburg railway line , next to which there is also a cycle path.

The two eastern lakes were taken over by the recreation area association and converted into bathing lakes. Sunbathing areas, parking spaces and a kiosk were created on the north and south banks. The water surface of the larger southern lake is 24 hectares, that of the smaller lake 6.3 hectares. The lakes are only a few kilometers west of Munich Airport and are therefore affected by aircraft noise . The northern of the two bathing lakes is overflown at a low altitude.
