The Powder Tower in Otjimbingwe is a Powder Tower in Otjimbingwe in the region Erongo in Namibia . This has been a national monument of Namibia since October 3rd, 1950 .
This small tower was built out of stone in 1872 and was used as a repository for gunpowder and food . It was also used as a fort in numerous attacks. It is one of the oldest western structures in Namibia today.
