Pungluang Sor Singyu ( Thai ผึ้ง หลวง ส. สิงห์ อยู่ ; born April 16, 1988 in the province of Uthai Thani , Thailand as Panya Utok , ปัญญา อุทก ) is a Thai professional boxer and two-time world champion (also current world champion) of the WBO in bantamweight .

Professional career

Pungluang made his professional debut at the age of 16 and won by knockout in the third round. Two years later he became the WBC youth world champion . He defended this belt several times; but lost him on May 9, 2009 to the Belgian Stephane Jamoye by a wafer-thin point decision.

In the same year he won the WBO Asia Pacific Youth Title , which he was able to defend several times. In 2011 he was allowed to box for the interim world championship and won. The following year he captured the vacant WBO world title when he beat the Philippines AJ Banal (record 28-1-1-) by technical knockout in the 9th round. He lost this belt in his first title defense on March 2, 2013 by losing points to the undefeated Paulus Ambunda (19-0-0).

Pungluang won the WBO international title that same year and defended it twice. In 2014, the following year, he boxed Tomoki Kameda for the WBO world championship belt . Kameda knocked him out in the 7th round. So Sor Singyu could not win the WBO world title for the second time. He succeeded in doing so with a difficult knockout win in round 2 against the Japanese Ryo Akaho (record 26-1-2) the following year.
