Uthai Thani ( Thai อุทัยธานี ) is a city ( เทศบาล เมือง อุทัยธานี ) in the Thai province of Uthai Thani . It is the capital of Amphoe Mueang Uthai Thani District and Uthai Thani Province.

Uthai Thani is located about 230 kilometers north of the state capital Bangkok on Mae Nam Sakaekrang in the alluvial land of Mae Nam Chao Phraya . The city is a bit off the beaten track.
Economy and Importance
Agricultural products, such as rice and fruits, generate the majority of the income. There is also a growing bamboo processing industry.

- Wat Sangkat Rattana Khiri (Thai: วัด สั ง กั สรัตน คีรี ) - Buddhist temple complex ( Wat ) at the foot of Khao Sakaekrang ( Sakaekrang hill ) with a large Buddha statue in Sukhothai style. It was made at the time of King Phutthayotfa Chulalok ( Rama I ) and is said to contain a relic in the head.
- Wat Ubosatharam (also: Wat Bot; Thai วัด อุ โปส ถา ราม ) - on the eastern bank of the Mae Nam Sakaekrang, with wall paintings from the Rattanakosin period in Ubosot and Wihan . Also worth seeing are the old Bai Sema , the boundary stones of the Ubosot.
