Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Sawan ( Thai : อำเภอ เมือง นครสวรรค์ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the Nakhon Sawan Province . Nakhon Sawan Province is located in the southern part of the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): the Banphot Phisai , Kao Liao , Chumsaeng , Tha Tako , Phayuha Khiri , Krok Phra and Lat Yao districts of Nakhon Sawan Province.
In Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Sawan is the confluence of Mae Nam Ping and Mae Nam Nan . Together they form the Mae Nam Chao Phraya , the main river of central Thailand. To the east of the district is the Bueng Boraphet swamp , the largest south-water wetland in Thailand.
