Amphoe Tha Tako ( Thai : อำเภอ ท่าตะโก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the eastern part of the province of Nakhon Sawan . Nakhon Sawan Province is located in the southern part of the northern region of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): the Amphoe Nong Bua , Phaisali , Tak Fa , Phayuha Khiri , Mueang Nakhon Sawan and Chum Saeng .

On the western border of the district is the Bueng Boraphet swamp , the largest south-water wetland in Thailand.

etymology

In the past, the residents of Tha Tako would go to a well-known boat dock (Thai: Tha ) to take a bath or water their cattle. Since several Tako trees ( Diospyros sp. ) Grew there, the place was called Tha Tako: "Pier of the Tako trees".

history

The circle was established in 1900 in Ban Khao Noi in Tambon Tha Tako. At first there was an argument about whether he should be called Khao Noi or Don Kha, both tambon of the new district. The name Tha Tako was not officially established until 1917.
