Amphoe Lat Yao ( Thai : อำเภอ ลาดยาว ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Nakhon Sawan Province . Nakhon Sawan Province is located in the southern part of the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Khanu Woralaksaburi of Kamphaeng Phet province , the Amphoe Banphot Phisai , Mueang Nakhon Sawan and Krok Phra of Nakhon Sawan, Amphoe Sawang Arom of Uthai Thani province and Amphoe Chum Ta Bong and Mae Wong again in Nakhon Sawan.

history

Lat Yao was originally part of the Amphoe Krok Phra as a tambon . His Kamnan Khun Lat Boriban ( ขุน ลาด บริบาล ) campaigned heavily for the development of the infrastructure. In 1913 he proposed to the governor of Nakhon Sawan to upgrade the tambon to a district (Amphoe) . The request was granted and the new district established.
