Amphoe Khanu Woralaksaburi ( Thai : อำเภอ ขาณุวรลักษบุรี ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the southeast of Kamphaeng Phet Province . The Kamphaeng Phet Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring amphoes are seen from the west: the amphoe Pang Sila Thong , Khlong Khlung and Bueng Samakkhi in the province of Kamphaeng Phet and the amphoe Banphot Phisai , Lat Yao and Mae Wong in the province of Nakhon Sawan .

history

In 1987, students from Silpakorn University ( Bangkok ) conducted archaeological research in the area of ​​Khanu Woralaksaburi. They found stone axes and clay jugs several thousand years old near Khao Kalon .

At the time of the Sukhothai Kingdom , Mueang Saen To was an ancient city, as was Mueang Trai Trueng, Phan, Khanathi, Nakhon Chum, Thep Nakhon, and Chakangrao (all in the territory of Kamphaeng Phet Province).

Saen To was initially as "branch circuit" ( King Amphoe ) set up by the Tambon Saen To, Salok Bat Bo Tham, Yang Sung and Rahan from Amphoe Khlong Khlung were separated. The subdistrict was renamed Khanu Woralaksaburi in 1939. In 1947 it was promoted to Amphoe.
