Amphoe Khlong Lan ( Thai อำเภอ คลองลาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the western part of Kamphaeng Phet Province . The Kamphaeng Phet Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring Amphoe are seen from the northeast: the Amphoe Mueang Kamphaeng Phet , Khlong Khlung , Pang Sila Thong of the Kamphaeng Phet Province and the Amphoe Umphang , Phop Phra and Wang Chao of the Tak Province .

In addition to the majority of Thais live in Amphoe Khlong Lan, members of the hill tribes of the Hmong and Karen also live .

history

Amphoe Khlong Lan was originally part of Amphoe Mueang Kamphaeng Phet and was called Tambon Nam Ron. On June 1, 1977, the district of Khlong Lan was initially set up as a "branch district" ( King Amphoe ) by combining the two tambon Khlong Lan and Pong Nam Ron. On March 20, 1986, Khlong Lan was finally promoted to Amphoe.

Attractions

On the border between Amphoe Khlong Lan and Amphoe Mueang Kamphaeng Phet lies the Khlong Lan National Park , which comprises the last contiguous jungle area in the province. A popular destination is the Khlong Lan waterfall in the national park.

  • Khlong Lan Phatthana (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คลองลาน พัฒนา ) consisting of the complete tambon Khlong Lan Phatthana.

There are also three " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Khlong Nam Lai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล คลอง น้ำ ไหล ) consisting of the complete tambon Khlong Nam Lai.
  • Pong Nam Ron (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โป่งน้ำร้อน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pong Nam Ron.
  • Sak Ngam (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สัก งาม ) consisting of the complete tambon Sak Ngam.
