The Khlong Lan National Park ( Thai : อุทยานแห่งชาติ คลองลาน ) is a national park in the province ( Changwat ) Kamphaeng Phet in Northern Thailand .

history

The Khlong Lan National Park was established on December 25, 1982, making it Thailand's 44th National Park. Previously, the area was riddled and temporarily ruled by communist irregulars who influenced the smaller mountain peoples and tribal communities.

After the establishment of the national park, the members of the hill tribes were resettled as a threat to the flora and fauna.

location

The Khlong Lan National Park is located south of Kamphaeng Phet on highway 1117. The area has an area of ​​300 km² and includes land in the districts ( Amphoe ) Khlong Lan and Mueang Kamphaeng Phet. This is where the last contiguous original forest area in Kamphaeng Phet Province lies.

The Khlong Lan waterfall (Thai: น้ำตก คลองลาน ) plunges 55 meters into a bathing lake on a 40 meter wide cliff. Other attractions include the Khlong Nam Lai or Pang Khwai waterfalls, Phet Chakho, Wang Lan and Lan Khao, and the Kaeng Ko Roi rapids in the far north of the park.
