history
The 695 km² park was opened in 1982 as the 47th national park in Thailand.
geography
The national park is located in the provinces of Phatthalung and Trang and consists of a plain surrounded by towering mountains. The mountains belong to the Nakhon-Si-Thammarat mountain range , which stretches from north to south across the Malay Peninsula .
