Amphoe Phop Phra ( Thai อำเภอ พบพระ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Tak Province . The Tak Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Phop Phra County is located in the west of Tak Province and borders on Uthai Thani Province and Myanmar .

Amphoe Phop Phra is located in the west of the Tak Province and borders in a clockwise direction from the north on the Amphoe Mae Sot , Mueang Tak and Wang Chao in the Province of Tak, on Amphoe Ban Rai in the Province of Uthai Thani and Amphoe Umphang in the Province of Tak and to the west to the Kayin State in Burma .

An important river in the county is the Maenam Moei (Moei River) .

history

The area of ​​Phop Phra was originally the Tambon Chong Khaep in the Amphoe Mae Sot . Due to the size of the amphoe and because of the communist insurgents in the area, the government set up an independent administration. On April 1, 1977 the Tambon Phop Phra, Chong Khaep and Khiri Council were formed, which were combined into a small district ( King Amphoe ) . On March 3, 1987, this small district was upgraded to an amphoe.

Phop Phra (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พบพระ ) is a small town ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district, it consists of parts of the Tambon Phop Phra.

There are also five “Tambon Administrative Organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Administrative Organizations) for the tambon in the district that do not belong to any city.
