Ellery Eskelin (born August 16, 1959 in Wichita , Kansas ) is an American tenor saxophonist , composer and band leader of free and creative jazz and new improvisation music .

Ellery Eskelin grew up in Baltimore , Maryland in a musical family. He has lived in New York since 1983, where he became an important figure in the experimental jazz scene in the 1990s.
