Mark Dresser (born September 26, 1952 in Los Angeles ) is an American double bass player and composer . He has further developed the playing techniques of the bass instrument.

Dresser graduated from the University of California, San Diego , where he studied double bass with Bertram Turetzky and then with Franco Petracchi .
