Amphoe Mae Ramat ( Thai อำเภอ แม่ระมาด ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Tak Province . The Tak Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Amphoe Mae Ramat is located in the northwest of the Tak Province and borders the Chiang Mai Province and Burma .

In the Amphoe Mae Ramat he is the National Park Khun Phra Wo ( อุทยานแห่งชาติ ขุน พระ วอ ). The Mae Ramat River is an important source of water . The Amphoe Mae Ramat is located in the north-west of the Tak Province and, when viewed from the northeast, borders the following Amphoe: Sam Ngao , Ban Tak , Mueang Tak , Mae Sot in Tak Province, the Kayin State in Burma and Tha Song Yang again in the province Tak.

history

Amphoe Mae Ramat was first settled by Karen for over a hundred years , many of whom came here from the more northern provinces of Thailand to build a new place. This place grew and was made the Tambon Mae Ramat. In 1897 Mae Ramat was promoted to a minor district ( King Amphoe ) before it was finally made a district in 1951.

Local administration

There are three small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

  • Mae Ramat (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ระมาด ) consists of parts of the Tambon Mae Ramat,
  • Mae Charao (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ จะ เรา ) consists of parts of the Tambon Mae Chaorao,
  • Thung Luang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง หลวง ) consists of other parts of the Tambon Mae Chaorao.

There are also five “Tambon Administrative Organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Administrative Organizations) for the tambon in the district that do not belong to any city.
