Nakhon Sawan ( Thai : นครสวรรค์ , roughly: City of Heaven , also called Paknam Pho) is a large city ( เทศบาล นคร นครสวรรค์ ) in the Thai province of Nakhon Sawan . It is the capital of Mueang Nakhon Sawan County ( Amphoe ) and Nakhon Sawan Province. The Nakhon Sawan Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Nakhon Sawan is located about 240 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok at the confluence of the Mae Nam Ping ( Ping River ) and the Mae Nam Nan ( Nan River ), which then form the Mae Nam Chao Phraya .

history
Nakhon Sawan is an ancient foundation that played an important role as the gateway to the north during the Sukhothai era. A significant Chinese population has lived here since the late 19th century .
Attractions
- Khao Woranat Banphot (Khao Kop) - Buddhist temple complex located on a mountain. On the mountain, after climbing 450 steps, you have a view of the provincial capital and the Bung Boraphet swamps. According to legend, the temple was founded in the 13th century by King Li Thai of Sukhothai . In the viharn on the mountain there is a footprint of Buddha from the Sukhothai period.
