Alfred Formey
Alfred Formey ; Pseudonym: Emil Schlicht (* July 21, 1844 in Dessau ; † June 25, 1901 in Nagy-Bélicz ) was a German Protestant clergyman and poet.
Alfred Formey studied in Berlin and Leipzig theology and went in 1873 as preacher to Chile . In 1876 he became vicar and two years later pastor of the evangelical community AB in Vienna . He belonged to the conservative society for literature " Iduna ".
Formey's circle of friends in Vienna included u. a. Rudolf Steiner , Fritz Lemmermayer , Christine Hebbel and Emil Marriot .
Alfred Formey was buried in the Matzleinsdorf Evangelical Cemetery (crypt 14). His tomb shows him standing on the pulpit.
