Punta Andressen is a headland in Port Foster of Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms the southern boundary of Pendulum Cove .
Scientists of the 9th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1954–1955) erected a beacon here and named it after the Norwegian Adolf Amandus Andresen [sic!] (1872–1940), managing director of the whaling company Sociedad Ballenera de Magallanes in Punta Arenas, Chile .
