Punta Mazzei is a headland in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the west side of Cape Shirreff , the northern branch of the John Paul II peninsula , it is north of Playa Golondrina and south of Playa Yamana .
Chilean scientists named them after Antonio Mazzei Fernández, meteorologist on the ship Piloto Pardo on the 20th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1965-1966), who was involved in the census of the mammal population in this area.
