Punta Ventana (from Spanish ventana 'window' ) is a headland in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the east side of Cape Shirreff , the northern extension of the John Paul II Peninsula , it is located southeast of Punta Aguayo .
Scientists of the 45th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1990–1991) named her after a rock hole discovered here that reminded her of a window .
