The Purmonjoki ( Finnish ) ( Swedish Purmo å ) is a river in the Finnish landscapes of southern Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia .

The river has its origin in Lake Purmojärvi . From there it flows in a north-westerly direction, passes the place Kortesjärvi and later takes on its most important tributary, the Norijoki . After 87 km it meets the Ähtävänjoki about one kilometer south of Luodonjärvi and east of Jakobstad . The Purmonjoki drains an area of ​​864 km².
