Purrel Frankel

Purrel Fränkel (born October 8, 1976 in Paramaribo ) is a former Dutch football player .

The Surinam- born defender began his career with Telstar in 1994 in the Dutch First Division . In 1998 he moved to BV De Graafschap in the honor division , where he was under contract until 2002. In the four years the club always ended up in the bottom third of the table between 13th and 15th place. Then he went to Vitesse Arnhem . With Vitesse he took part in the 2002/03 UEFA Cup , where they were eliminated in the third round against Liverpool after victories against Rapid Bucharest and Werder Bremen . In the league, however, things went less well. In 2003 Vitesse landed in 14th place and the next year the club even had to go into relegation against relegation. After three years in the middle of the table, Fränkel returned to De Graafschap in 2007. In the first year the club had to go into relegation. In spring 2009 Fränkel was banned for one month after a positive doping test . At the end of the round, De Graafschap had to go back into relegation and could not prevent relegation this time. Fränkel stayed with the club, which managed to get promoted again the next year. After two more years in the honor division, he ended his professional career in 2012 and played another year for the amateur club VV Duno.
