|German title||Pussy vs. Putin|
|Original title||Pussy versus Putin -
Russian Riot Grrrls
|Country of production||Russia|
The documentary Pussy vs. Putin from 2013 describes the preparations and implementation of the so-called “punk prayer” by the activists of Pussy Riot in February 2012 in Moscow and documents the trial against Marija Aljochina , Yekaterina Samuzewitsch and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova .
Maria Aljochina and Nadeschda Tolokonnikowa took part in the German premiere on March 23, 2014 as part of the series “Best.Doks - Injustice Needs Witnesses” in Munich. According to the organizers, the film by the Russian film collective “ Gogol's Wives ” stays closer to the activists than the Russian-American documentary Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer . The events are only cut together and it is left to the viewer to draw their own conclusions .
Maria Aljochina and Nadeschda Tolokonnikowa were invited to the presentation of the film on the occasion of the 37th international film festival in Gothenburg. Gogol's Wives are to be represented by Wassili Bogatow and Taisija Krugovych. According to the Norwegian news agency Norsk Telegrambyrå, Aljochina and Tolokonnikowa plan to present what they say “ objective insider accounts ” on May 24 in Bergen, Norway.
