QR Andromedae is an eclipsing star in the constellation Andromeda at a distance of approximately 6,500 light years .
The system is also a super-soft X-ray source which was observed with the ROSAT satellite.
In the visual area, the system shows a fluctuation in brightness of around 0.5 magnitudes with a period of almost 16 hours. It's one of the closest and brightest super soft X-ray sources. It probably consists of a relatively low-mass star with 30 to 50% of the solar mass , which loses matter to a compact star , which is presumably a white dwarf . The system is thus interactive and the soft X-ray radiation arises from accretion (astronomy) by the compact star.
