Armin Wegner (* 1965 in Espelkamp ) is a former German handball player who played for TSV GWD Minden in the Bundesliga .

Career

Wegner started his career at HV Espelkamp and moved to TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen in the A-youth . His first year with the seniors he played in the regional league for the club's second team. In 1985 he moved to the second division TuS Nettelstedt for six years . Then Wegner took a break before returning to his home club HV Espelkamp in October 1991, with whom he rose to the national league at the end of the season. There he was used not only as a goalkeeper, but also as a field player. In 1994 he took another break and continued his career in March 1995 with the regional league team HC 93 Bad Salzuflen . At the end of the season, promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga was only just missed in a promotion round. This was followed by another change to the Bundesliga promoted TSV GWD Minden. However, since he only acted nominally as the third goalkeeper behind Chrischa Hannawald and Jens Buhrmester , he was only used sporadically and played again primarily for the reserve team. In addition, the club took another goalkeeper under contract in December 1995 with Vlado Šola . After only one year he joined HC 93 Bad Salzuflen for the second time, with whom he again narrowly missed promotion to the second division three times. In the 1999/2000 season he played for the league club HCE Bad Oeynhausen . Later there was an engagement with TV 01 Bohmte , with which he was relegated from the league .
