Qin Dongya

Qin Dongya ( Chinese  秦 东亚 ; born October 3, 1979 in Liaoyang ) is a former Chinese judoka who was third in the 2004 Olympic Games in the weight class up to 70 kilograms.

The 1.72 m tall Qin Dongya won the silver medal at the Asian Championships in 1999 , and came seventh at the 1999 World Championships . At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, she was eliminated in the first round against the Tunisian Nesria Traki . In 2001 she won the title at the Universiade in Beijing. In the final of the Asian Games in 2002 , she defeated the South Korean Bae Eun-hye . At the Judo World Championships 2003 Qin Dongya lost in the round of 16 to the British Kate Howey . After three wins in the Hope Round, the Chinese lost the battle for a bronze medal against Edith Bosch from the Netherlands .

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Qin Dongya lost to the German Annett Boehm in the round of 16 . Qin Dongya secured a bronze medal with victories in the hope lap over the Canadian Catherine Roberge , the Spaniard Cecilia Blanco and the Australian Catherine Arlove . In 2005 she won the military world championships, where she competed in the light heavyweight division. At the Asian Games in 2006 she won a bronze medal again. In 2007 she won the World Team Championships with the Chinese team, but she could no longer qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
