Qu Chunyu (born July 20, 1996 in Qiqihar ) is a Chinese short tracker .

Career

Qu made his first international appearance at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck . There she won the silver medal with the relay. In addition, she was eighth over 500 m and seventh over 1000 m. Two years later she won the bronze medal with the relay at the Junior World Championships in Erzurum . She made her debut in the Short Track World Cup in Shanghai in December 2015 , finishing fourth over 1000 m and third over 500 m. At the Junior World Championships in Sofia in 2016 , she won the bronze medal over 1500 m and the gold medal in the all-around, over 500 m, over 1000 m and with the relay. In March 2016 she won the bronze medal in the 500 m at the 2016 World Championships in Seoul . The following year she won the relay gold medal at the World Championships in Rotterdam . In February 2017, she won the silver medal with the relay at the Winter Asian Games in Sapporo . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she was eighth over 1000 m and seventh over 500 m and with the relay. In March 2018, she won the bronze medal in the 500 m at the World Championships in Montreal . In the following year she took 20th place in the all- around competition, tenth place over 1000 m and fifth place over 500 m at the World Championships in Sofia. In the 2019/20 season she came second and once in third place over 500 m and thus achieved fourth place in the World Cup. She also won in Montreal with the mixed relay and the relay and in Salt Lake City with the relay. She also took second place there with the mixed relay and in Dresden with the relay.
