Fan Kexin ( Chinese  范 可欣 , Pinyin Fàn Kěxīn ; born September 19, 1993 in Heilongjiang ) is a Chinese short tracker .

Career

She has been part of the national team since the beginning of 2010 and is coached by Lin Yan. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Taipei Fan achieved her first successes, over 500 m and with the relay she won the silver medal, in the all-around she was fifth. In October 2010 she made her debut in Montreal in the World Cup and immediately won her first World Cup race with the relay. In her first season she was able to achieve a total of three podium places over 500 m and also win four races with the relay. She was fourth in the 500 m World Cup. She won a gold medal with the relay at the 2011 Asian Winter Games in Astana and Almaty . At the team world championships in Warsaw she won her first world championship medal with silver, only narrowly beaten by the South Korean team. The World Championship in Sheffield was also successful . In the all-around event she was fourth, over 500 m and with the relay she was each world champion. In the following season 2011/12 , Fan was able to reach the podium in all six races with the relay in the World Cup, including five wins. Over 500 m she won her first two individual races in the World Cup, and she also achieved a podium place over 1500 m for the first time. She finished fourth again in the 500 m World Cup. At the home world championships in Shanghai , Fan defended their titles from the previous year over 500 m and with the relay. She finished fifth in the all-around competition. At the 2013 World Cup in Debrecen , she won gold in the relay and bronze in the 500 m. She won the same medals a year later in Montreal at the 2014 World Cup . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she won silver over 1000 m behind Park Seung-hi .

In the 2014/15 season, Fan won the 500 m five times and took third place once. Over 1000 m she came third in Salt Lake City and second in Dresden . At the 2015 World Championships in Moscow , she won silver with the relay over 3000 m and gold over 500 m. She finished the season in fifth place in the World Cup over 1000 m and first place in the World Cup over 500 m. In the following season she won three World Cup victories over 500 m. In addition, she was twice third and twice second with the relay. At the season highlight of the 2016 World Championships in Seoul , she won the gold medal over 500 m. At the end of the season, she achieved third place in the overall world cup over 500 m. In the 2016/17 season she achieved five top ten placements over 500 m, including third place in Salt Lake City, second place in Gangneung and first place in Calgary , third place in the overall standings. At the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo , she won the silver medal with the relay. In March 2017 she won the gold medal at the world championships in Rotterdam over 500 m and with the relay. In the 2017/18 season she achieved three results in the top ten and seventh place in the 500 m World Cup. In addition, she was second in Shanghai and first in Dordrecht with the relay. At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she was eighth over 500 m and seventh in the relay.

In the 2018/19 season, Fan achieved sixth place in the 500 m World Cup with second place over 500 m in Calgary and third places over 500 m and 1000 m in Salt Lake City . In addition, she won in Calgary with the mixed relay. At the 2019 World Championships in Sofia , she won the silver medal over 500 m. In the all-around competition, she achieved seventh place there. In the following season she won three times with the relay and took second place twice. In addition, she was third in the 1000 m in Montreal and first in the 500 m in Shanghai and thus achieved seventh place in the 500 m World Cup at the end of the season.
