Wang Meng ( Chinese  王 濛 , Pinyin Wáng Méng ; born April 10, 1985 in Harbin ) is a Chinese short tracker and, as a four-time Olympic champion, just ahead of Chun Lee-kyung (also four gold, one silver less), the most successful female athlete in the discipline.

Career

At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, she won the 500m short track, the first gold medal for the Chinese team at these Olympics. In the subsequent 1000 and 1500 meter run, Wang Meng won the silver and bronze medals. In doing so, she provided three of the eleven medals for the Chinese team .

Wang Meng has also won twenty gold medals at world championships. In addition, she achieved a total of fourteen silver and three bronze medals at world championships.

At the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, Wang Meng won three gold medals on the short track. This made her the second most successful female athlete at these Olympic Games behind Marit Bjørgen . She was absent from the 2014 Olympics due to an injury.
