Suzanne Schulting (born September 25, 1997 in Groningen ) is a Dutch short tracker .

Career

Schulting started internationally for the first time at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck . She finished fifth over 500 m. She made her debut in the World Cup at the beginning of the 2014/15 season in Montreal , finishing 30th over 1500 m and 18th over 1000 m. At the 2015 European Championships in Dordrecht , she won silver with the relay over 3000 m. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season in Montreal she came fourth in the 1500 m for the first time under the top ten in the World Cup. In the further course of the season she reached her first podium finishes at the World Cup in Shanghai with second place over 1000 m and third place with the relay. In January 2016 she was second over 1000 m, third over 1500 m and fourth over 500 m at the European Championships in Sochi and thus won the bronze medal in the all-around competition. She also won the gold medal with the relay. In the same month she won bronze with the relay and silver in the all- around at the Junior World Championships in Sofia . At the end of the season she was third over 1500 m in Dordrecht and seventh place in the World Cup over 1500 m. At the 2016 World Championships in Seoul , she won the superfinal over 3000 m and thus finished fifth in the all-around event. In the following season she finished nine times in the top ten in the individual World Cup. She achieved third place three times and second place twice. In February 2017 she won her first World Cup victory over 1500 m in Dresden . In addition, she won the relay in Dresden and took second place three times and third place once during the season. At the 2017 European Championships in Turin , she won the bronze medal with the relay. In addition, she achieved 11th place in the all-around competition. At the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam , she won the bronze medal in the 1000 m. She finished the season in second place in the World Cup over 1500 m and first place in the World Cup over 1000 m. In the 2017/18 World Cup season she achieved six top ten placements in the individual World Cup, including second place over 1000 m in Dordrecht, fourth place in the World Cup over 1000 m. In November 2017, she won the World Cup in Seoul with the relay. Suzanne Schulting won her first Olympic medals at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. In the individual competition she won over 1000 m gold, in the relay the Dutch women won over 3000 m bronze. In March 2018, she finished 24th in the all- around competition at the World Championships in Montreal and won the silver medal with the relay.

In the 2018/19 season, Schulting won the World Cup over 1000 m and 1500 m with six victories and finished eighth in the World Cup over 500 m. She also took second place three times and third place once and won in Almaty and Turin with the relay. At the European Championships in Dordrecht in 2019 , she was European champion over 1500 m, in the all-around and with the relay. At the 2019 World Championships in Sofia she won the bronze medal over 500 m and the gold medal in the all-around, over 1000 m and over 3000 m. In the following season she won eight times, five of them in singles. In addition, she came second four times and third twice, winning the World Cup over 1000 m and 1500 m. At the 2020 European Championships in Debrecen , she won the gold medal in the 500 m, 1000 m, 1500 m, all-around and with the relay.
