European Short Track Championships
The European Short Track Speed Skating Championships in speed skating are held annually since 1997th For men and women there are four individual short track races as well as a 5000 m and 3000 m relay. In the individual competitions over 1500 m, 500 m, 1000 m and 3000 m, the participants can collect points, which are then added to the all-around result. The races are organized by the International Skating Union (ISU).

procedure
Like the relay, the four individual races will be held in heats, semi-finals and finals. There is a certain order that is shown in the list (finals are in bold):

- Heats over 1500 m (men and women)
- Semi-finals over 1500 m (men and women)
- Finals over 1500 m (men and women)
- Prelims for the 5000 m relay (men) and 3000 m relay (women)

- Quarter-finals over 500 m (men and women)
- 500 m semi-finals (men and women)
- 500m finals (men and women)

Regulations
In the finals, points are distributed as follows:
- 1st place = 34 points
- 2nd place = 21 points
- 3rd place = 13 points
- 4th place = 8 points
- 5th place = 5 points
- 6th place = 3 points
- 7th place = 2 points
- 8th place = 1 point
So the scores of two consecutive places are added to get the score for the rank that is one place above them. In the superfinal over 3000 m, only the eight best short trackers are admitted after adding up the points from the three previous races.
Most successful athletes
Both Fabio Carta and Evgenija Radanowa are the most successful athletes in all five disciplines (individual distance and all-around) for men and women.
