European Short Track Championships 2004

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2004 European Short Track Championships took place from January 16 to January 18, 2004 in Zoetermeer . After The Hague in 2001, this was the second time that the Netherlands had hosted the continental championships. A total of four European championship titles were awarded, one each in the all-around competition and one in the relay for women and men. The host was the International Skating Union (ISU).

In the all-around competition, Evgenia Radanova continued her winning streak and won her fifth all- around title in a row. Tatjana Borodulina and Marta Capurso landed on the seats . Italy dominated the men. It won Nicola Rodigari in front of his compatriots Fabio Carta and Nicola Franceschina . In the relay, Russia prevailed over Italy for women and Italy over Russia for men. Third place went to the German quartet.
