In January 2002 Prankewitsch started for the first time internationally at the Junior World Championship in Chuncheon , where he did not come out through a quarter-finals. Nevertheless, in November of the same year he made it to the Short Track World Cup , but there too he always failed in the preliminary runs. In return, he narrowly missed the final several times at the Junior World Championships in Budapest in January 2003 and thus placed seventh over 500 meters. At the European Championships of the year, however, Prankevich retired early. At the start of the 2003/04 season he achieved several good results in the World Cup, he also won the silver medal with the relay at the 2004 European Championships and was sixth in the all-round competition. Again after the first runs the world championship was over for him.
After the results of Prankevichs in the 2004/05 season both in the World Cup and in major events were disappointing, he was not used in the 2005/06 season in the World Cup. He only competed internationally at the 2006 European Championships and came third on the 500-meter course. In the 2006/07 World Cup he was only used once at the first station and did not reach a top 10 placement. He only placed 24th in the singles at the 2007 European Championships . As in the previous season, Prankewitsch did not achieve any outstanding results in the 2007/08 World Cup , but in eleventh place he only barely missed the top ten places over 500 meters. He started the 2008/09 season with a good tenth place on the short distance of 500 meters.
