European Short Track Championships 2006
The European Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2006 took place from January 20 to January 22, 2006 at the Polish Krynica instead. The title fights took place in Poland for the first time. A total of four European championship titles were awarded, one each in the all-around competition and one in the relay for women and men. The host was the International Skating Union (ISU).
In the all-around competition, Evgenija Radanova from Bulgaria won her sixth title for women, and Nicola Rodigari from Italy for men, his second. In the relay competitions, the Italian quartet was able to prevail twice.

A total of 140 athletes from 24 countries took part in the European Championships, including 81 men and 59 women.

- Every athlete who has reached a final receives points there for his placement, from 34 points for first place to one point for eighth place. If an athlete does not compete (DNS), is disqualified (DSQ) or does not reach the finish (DNF), he will not receive any points for the all-round competition.
