European Short Track Championships 2013

The 2013 European Short Track Championships took place from January 18-20, 2013 in Malmö , Sweden .

A total of four European championship titles were awarded, one each in the all-around and one in the relay to men and women. In order to determine the all-around European champion, the athletes competed over the three distances 500 m, 1000 m and 1500 m. The eight best placed athletes in the all-round competition after these three routes then competed in the 3000 m superfinal. The winners over the individual distances were not crowned European champions, but received “small medals” with the exception of over 3000 m.

In the women's category , Arianna Fontana won the all-around title. She won confidently in front of Elise Christie and Jorien ter Mors . In the men's category , Freek van der Wart won the all-around title. He prevailed over Sjinkie Knegt and Victor An . In the relay competitions the Dutch quartet was able to win the women and the Russian quartet for the men.
