Tao Jiaying ( Chinese  陶嘉瑩  /  陶嘉莹 , Pinyin Táo Jiāyíng ; * April 15, 1993 ) is a Chinese short tracker .

Career

Tao first appeared internationally in December 2013 at the Winter Universiade 2013 in Trentino . There she won the bronze medal over 1000 m and the gold medal over 1500 m. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season she made her debut in Salt Lake City in the World Cup, finishing eighth over 1000 m and sixth over 1500 m. With the season she reached second place there. In the further course of the season she reached third place over 1500 m and second place over 3000 m. At the end of the season she won her first World Cup victory in Erzurum together with the relay over 3000 m. At the 2015 World Championships in Moscow , she won the silver medal with the relay over 3000 m. She finished the season in fifth place in the 1500 m World Cup. After third place over 1500 m at the beginning of the 2015/16 season in Montreal , she took second place with the relay in Toronto and Nagoya , second place over 1500 m in Shanghai and second place over 1000 m in Dresden . At the last World Cup station in Dordrecht , she was third over 1000 m and at the end of the season she finished fifth in the World Cup over 1000 m. At the 2016 World Championships in Seoul , she came fourth with the relay.
