Li Jinyu ( Chinese 李 靳 宇 ; born January 30, 2001 ) is a Chinese short tracker .

Career

Li first appeared internationally in January 2016 at the Junior World Championships in Sofia . There she won the gold medal with the relay. In addition, she achieved there 13th place over 1500 m, 12th place in the all-around and eighth place over 1000 m. In the following year she won the bronze medal in the 1500 m superfinals, the silver medal over 1500 m and again the gold medal with the relay at the Junior World Championships in Innsbruck . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season she ran in Budapest for the first time in the World Cup , finishing 26th over 1500 m and 15th over 1000 m. Her best result of the season in the World Cup singles was the 11th place over 1000 m in Dordrecht . At the highlight of the season, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she surprisingly won the silver medal in the 1500 m. In addition, she was there ninth over 1000 m and seventh with the relay. In March 2018 she won the bronze medal and the silver medal over 3000 m at the world championships in Montreal in the all- around event and over 1000 m. In the 2018/19 season she achieved six top ten placements, including third place over 1500 m in Almaty , sixth place in the World Cup over 1500 m. In addition, she won in Calgary with the mixed relay and won third place in Almaty with the mixed relay. At the 2019 Junior World Championships in Montreal, she won the silver medal over 1500 m and the gold medal over 1000 m.
