Quadratrix
As quadratrix (also Quadratix ) refers to curves, one at a given with the help of circular area equal square can be constructed. In addition to the Quadratrix itself or a device that draws it, usually only compasses and rulers are permitted as construction tools (see also squaring the circle ).
Somewhat more generally, a curve is called a quadratrix, with the help of which a square of the same area can be constructed to an area delimited by a (non-polygonal) curve. The quadratrix is a curve that enables the (exact) quadrature of such a surface.
