The Quadriennale di Roma , Italian Fondazione La Quadriennale di Roma , is a foundation for the promotion of Italian contemporary art based in Rome , which holds public exhibitions in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni every four years .

The sponsors are the Ministry of Culture and the City of Rome. The foundation was established in 1927 with the aim of bringing together the best figurative works of art from Italian production in Rome, in a sense as a counterpart to the internationally oriented Biennale di Venezia .

The art exhibitions , for which the names Esposizione Quadriennale d'Arte or Quadriennale d'Arte Nazionale di Roma are also used, are counted in Roman terms . The foundation maintains a historical archive (ARBIQ) with over 13,500 available short artist dossiers. Extensive catalogs are often published for the exhibitions.

The entrepreneur and banker Franco Bernabè has been president since 2015 .
