Bonaventure Tecchi

Bonaventura Tecchi (born February 11, 1896 in Bagnoregio , Province of Viterbo , Latium , Kingdom of Italy , † June 18, 1968 in Rome , Italy ) was an Italian author , German scholar and university professor .

Life

Tecchi holds a PhD in literature from La Sapienza University in Rome . He participated in the First World War as a volunteer in the Brigata Arezzo . In the 10th Isonzo battle he was awarded the bronze medal for bravery for his behavior during the fighting at Flondar-Montefalcone on June 4 and 5, 1917 . On November 17, 1917, he was seriously injured in the right arm and captured during the retreat of the Italian army in the wake of the 11th Isonzo battle . After his recovery at the Rastatt Military Hospital , he was transferred to a prisoner-of-war camp for officers inCelle warehouse relocated. There he met the playwright Ugo Betti and the novelist Carlo Emilio Gadda, among others . After the armistice in November 1918, the prisoners were able to move freely in Celle and familiarize themselves with the situation in defeated Germany until they were transported back to Italy.

Tecchi received after the war, the War Cross of his country and was created using the captured from the bronze cannons made commemorative medal to the Italian-Austrian war for the completion of the unification of Italy excellent.

His experience in Germany led Tecchi to decide to do further studies about Germany and to devote himself to German literature. He describes his time in Germany in Baracca 15C of 1961. In the following years he received the chair for German literature at his alma mater . In 1942 he was entrusted with the chair for German language and literature at the Roman Free University of Maria Himmelfahrt , the then Istituto Pareggiato di Magistero "Maria Ss.Assunta" .

Since the 1920s, Tecchi has published dozens of novels, short stories, and works on literature.
