Dieter Antritter

Dieter Antritter (born October 6, 1929 in Pforzheim ; † August 5, 2015 in Königsbach-Stein ) was a German jazz musician ( soprano and alto saxophone , band leader ).

Antritter founded the Latin Jazz Band in 1952 , from which the Quartier Latin Jazz Band, which existed until at least 2009, emerged . With this band he accompanied numerous guest soloists such as Michel Attenoux , Peanuts Holland , Mezz Mezzrow , Benny Waters and Nelson "Cadillac" Williams . A first album with Waters reached a circulation of 100,000 copies, later records also sold 40,000 copies.
