The source ditch is an approx. 560 meter long ditch in Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel at Hamburg Airport .
It rises north of an allotment garden area on the southwestern edge of Hamburg Airport, then runs through this allotment garden area and then on between the METRO fence and the fence of the allotment garden area . It continues parallel to Haldenstieg and then flows into the Tarpenbek .
