Querubin Moreno

Querubín Moreno ( José Querubín Moreno Moreno ; born December 29, 1959 ) is a former Colombian walker who won two medals at the Pan American Games .

At the Pan American Games in 1983 Moreno won the bronze medal in 50 km walking behind the two Mexicans Raúl González and Martín Bermúdez . The following year Moreno started the 1984 Olympic Games on both distances, he finished ninth over 20 kilometers , over 50 kilometers he gave up. In August 1987 Moreno again won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games over 20 kilometers, he came behind the Mexican Carlos Mercenario and the American Tim Lewis to the finish. A short time later, Moreno finished eighth at the World Championships in Rome .

After Moreno gave up over 20 kilometers at the Olympic Games in 1988 , he won his first medal at a South American Championship the following year , when he received the bronze medal over 20 kilometers behind the Brazilian Sérgio Galdino and his brother Héctor Moreno . In 1991 behind Sérgio Galdino and in 1993 behind Jefferson Pérez from Ecuador, Querubín Moreno won the silver medal. In 1995 in Manaus , instead of the 20-kilometer street walk, the first 20,000-meter walk took place. Querubín Moreno won his only South American title ahead of Héctor Moreno.

Querubín Moreno is 1.62 meters tall and weighed 54 kilograms during his playing days. He set his best time of 20 km of 1:20:19 h in 1987, over 50 km he achieved a time of 4:22:24 h in 1986.
