Quinton Arne Patton (born August 9, 1990 in Nashville , Tennessee , United States ) is an American football player on the position of wide receiver . He played for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

Patton played American football and baseball at Stratford High School before switching schools and going to La Vergne High School in La Vergne .

college

Quinton Patton attended Coffeyville Community College for 3 years before choosing to study at Louisiana Tech University . There he played for the Bulldogs in 2011 and 2012. In his freshman year, he caught 79 passes for 1,202 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2012, he caught 104 passes for 1,392 yards and 13 touchdowns. In both years he was elected to the first-team All-WAC.

NFL

In the 2013 NFL Draft, Patton was selected in the 4th round in 128th place in the entire draft by the San Francisco 49ers . He signed a 4-year contract for $ 2,551,500 that guarantees him $ 391,500 and includes a signing bonus of $ 391,500. Patton started the season as a backup from 3rd wide receiver Mario Manningham . Due to a foot injury, he spent most of his rookie season as a spectator. Until the game against the Arizona Cardinals he only had one pass catch for 0 yards. In the game against the Cardinals, Patton was able to collect big plus points. He ran for 26 yards in just one attempt and caught two passes for 34 yards. His second catch, for 26 yards, enabled the field goal to win. He caught his first touchdown in week 7 of the 2015 season. The game was won 25:20 against the Baltimore Ravens . After his rookie contract expired, he moved to the New York Jets , where he was released again after an injury before the start of the season.

AAF

In 2019 he was under contract with the Birmingham Iron in the newly formed Alliance of American Football (AAF). However, the league broke up after the eighth game day due to financial problems.
