Quintus Caecilius Metellus Nepos (Consul 57 BC)
Quintus Caecilius Metellus Nepos († around 55 BC) was a politician of the late Roman Republic .
Quintus Caecilius Metellus Nepos was a son of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Nepos . In his youth he was often active as a prosecutor, although probably not very important. He went in 67 BC As a legacy of Pompey to Asia Minor and later to Syria , where he lived until 63 BC. Chr. Stayed. In 62 BC Chr. Nepos was tribune and prevented Cicero from being accountable on the last day of his consulate . After violent conflicts with his colleague Marcus Porcius Cato Uticensis , he went to see Pompey in Asia and was suspended by the Senate . Nepos was born in 60 BC. In 57 BC Chr. Nepos was with his relative Publius Cornelius Lentulus Spinther consul and despite previous hostility advocated Cicero's recall. He took 56 BC In the conference of Luca and then went as proconsul to Spain ( Hispania citerior ), where he achieved isolated successes against the Vaccaer . In 55 BC He went back to Rome and died a little later.
