Quisdorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quisdorf is the municipality Bosau associated town with about 160 inhabitants on the municipal boundary of Bosau and Eutin , which is located four kilometers north-east. There are three farms and various commercial enterprises (refrigeration, electrical engineering, construction companies).

The place originated as a Slavic settlement in the Wagrien landscape . This is particularly indicated by the place name and the fact that Quisdorf is a Rundling settlement. After the Slavs were finally ousted by the Schauenburgers , the settlement on the eastern edge of the Limes Saxoniae border strip was taken over by Holstein settlers around 1140.

The first certain documentary mention of the place as Cutesdorp is an arbitration agreement between the bishop and the bailiff from 1256 . Around 1300 the spelling of the name changed from Cutesdorp to Quiztorp, the church-influenced Latin spelling.

In 1933 the place was incorporated into Bosau.

The noble family of the Quistorp has its origin in this place.
