Qullissaaqqat [ ˌquɬːiˈsːɑːqːatˢʰ ] (according to the old spelling K'utdligssârĸat ; Danish Gamle Qullissat ) is a desolate Greenlandic settlement in the district of Qeqertarsuaq in the municipality of Qeqertalik .

location

Qullissaaqqat is a good six kilometers south-southeast of Qullissat on the Sullorsuaq (Vaigat). The closest inhabited place is Saqqaq 38 km east. District capital Qeqertarsuaq is 91 km south-southwest.

history

Qullissaaqqat was founded in 1943 by 19 people. Despite the Danish name, the place is almost twenty years younger than Qullissat. In 1944, 19 people lived in Qullissaaqqat and in 1945 there were 17. In 1946 the population jumped to 38 and in 1947 35 people lived in the area. In 1951 a school was built. In 1955 the place had 20 inhabitants and a year later the place was given up again after only 13 years.
